Har-Ki-Dun is in the border district of Uttarkashi lying at an altitude 3506m. Har-Ki-Dun is a green valley, located at the base of the majestic Swargarohini peak(6252m). It is also called 'The Valley of the Gods'.
According to legends, Har-Ki-Dun is the point from where the Pandawas of Mahabharata transcended to 'Heaven'. The archaeologists here found the ancient 'Bhojpatras' that was used to write manuscripts thousands of years ago. Har-Ki-Dun has a number of temples and shrines that the people of ancient days prayed in olden days. It is an ideal place for research botanists, nature lovers, trekkers and bird watchers. In Har-ki-dun valley we can explore a lot about the Garhwal mountain.
The view of the pine forest, deodar and conifer forests and other meadows from the Har-Ki-Dun is alluring. Har-Ki-Dun is an ideal place for photography lovers also. We can see the beautiful Himalayan wildlife during our trek in the valley.
